Hi there!
I'm Jeff, and I've been operating as the "Orange Hat Tech" for several years now. Online I generally go by 'Dirkson'. I do whatever technical work happens to cross my path. Currently, I'm:
- Figuring out what my job even means when computers are, in may ways, better at it than I am.
- Going outside a lot more instead of working with computers.
- Teaching classes on nalbinding, a form of textile construction that predates knitting and crochet.
- Administering my linux server out of
Denver Kansas City my own home, where it runs the various websites and services I provide.
In the past, I've:
- Tried to make the world's most accurate butter-based space combat simulator, ScrumbleShip.
- Administered linux servers for frogstar.com, a Minecraft community, and the Zen Community of Oregon.
- Built a few websites, previously using a system called Drupal, and currently coding from hand like a madperson.
- Fixed computers for small businesses and anyone else who needed it.
- Written several small MIT Licensed, C99 libraries.
- Messed around with C GUI libraries
- Made a few episodes of a sci-fi 'realplay' podcast about a spaceship called Planet of Hats.
- Administered the Minecraft server Dirkocraft
- Taught various computer courses for my local city's recreation department.
- Discovered and explored several small caves.
